About
Charlie Boy is a UK-based writer of literary fiction and poetry exploring grief, language, myth, and the fragile machinery of being alive.
His work inhabits liminal spaces where domestic life meets folklore, where tenderness coexists with fracture, and where language becomes both refuge and threat.
He is currently at work on a long-form novel, Theatre For Birds, a mythic literary fable narrated by a young magpie observing the quiet collapse of a man known only as The In-between. Part psychological elegy, part modern folklore, the novel explores faith, fatherhood, instinct, and the abyss beneath the familiar.
Alongside long-form fiction, he writes poetry that holds the sacred and the ridiculous in the same frame — examining fatherhood, mental rupture, suburban mythology, and the quiet violence of being alive. Selected poems have appeared in Resurrection Magazine, En Bloc, and Dreams & Nightmares.
He publishes essays and short fiction through his Substack, In Conversation with Birds, and produces an illustrated literary zine, Dr Sadly’s Euphoria Emporium, blending folklore, satire, and suburban myth.
He lives and writes in the UK.
